Etosha National Park

The next stop on our trip was Etosha National Park. I had been excited for this part of the trip since day one because I have heard this was a really beautiful place in the world and also because it is FILLED with animals! I have been waiting to see animals the whole trip and knew Etosha would be the place. After our homestays, we were all worked up, excited, and ready for new adventures. We drove awhile in the kombi (what they call vans here) and finally arrived at Etosha. The whole park is absolute HUGE, about 8,600 square miles. We would be staying in the park for two nights at two different camp sites. We drove for about an hour through the park and already saw so many springbok, zebras, oryx, kudo, wildebeests, giraffes, and elephants. It was absolutely incredible to be so close to them and right in their own natural habitat. We camped at sites where you could go down to the watering hole and just watch animals come to drink. This was definitely one of my favorite parts of the entire trip. You could sit on benches and just watch, so peaceful and so silent, as so many animals would come and drink from the watering hole. One night there were about 15 giraffe and the next there were 20 elephants! It was a mind blowing site to see and I could have sat there forever. This blog post will mostly be pictures because words cannot really describe anything. Also, there were so many beautiful animals so enjoy!
